Ric KV1W has ordered and installed a new 7/8" semi-rigid coax from the garage to the top of the tower. The $600 cost was supported by the dues. Tom WA1RHP installed both an RG-214 and an Andrew LDF-50 Heliax to the top previously. The repeater is currently running on the Heliax cable. The plan is to have a choice of 3 antennas on the 7/8" coax. The Heliax will be connected to the North (Town) facing GAM antenna. The RG-214 will be connected to an HF wire antenna for Bobby B's operations. There are more connections available at the lightning window for coax.
Ric KV1W and Tom WA1RHP are installing the new 7/8" coax. Ric KV1W is Fat fingering the new coax for a new connector. Hey Ric! You hold the OTHER end of the knife!A "party" plug for the coax conduit. That's high rel. masking tape.
A clear window transision from the coax conduit to the coax. That's high rel. soda bottle! Notice the world is stuck together with duct tape.
Since these pictures Bobby B WA1ZJG has built a dog house at the tower base to cover the pipe exits, and a mud flap to cover the garage ends.
